ECE
The Pre-school is our ‘new and improved’ toddler playschool.
Playing together
Children love to play together at Pre-school. This is fun and educational: they learn to socialize with others, to work together, to share, to wait their turn… All the social skills they need in life!
We follow and guide the development of each child according to the latest insights. In doing so we give all children a good start to primary school.
Combination with the childcare centre
Of course, you can also opt for a combination with a childcare centre. To do so, register your child for at least one morning at Pre-school, and one or more parts of a day for the childcare centre.
Children have been our priority for more than 25 years
Excellent preparation for primary school
We work with accredited pre-school educational programs like Uk & Puk and Piramide, in all our Pre-schools and childcare centres. Play is at the heart of each of our programmes!
This way we offer every child an opportunity to develop, children who need a helping hand, and children who need an extra challenge.
All about your toddler
We take the short attention span of a toddler into account. This is why a morning at our Pre-school does not take longer than 2.5 hours*. The toddlers usually choose their own playmates and toys. We consciously work with fixed combinations of mornings, so that your child is in a fixed group, with known friends.
* At the XL Pre-school we spend extra time on eating together socially and playing ‘freely’.
ECE specialist
We have an ECE-specialist (Early Childhood Education specialist) in every Pre-school. This is a pedagogical worker with extra expertise, who supports and advises his/her colleagues in the field of pedagogical actions.
See instantly how your child is doing in the Ska app!
Via our parent portal of My Ska, we give you a view of what your child experiences by us. With photos and a digital diary. We even have a special Ska app for smartphone and tablet! You can read how your child’s day was whenever it suits you. Often it is already there before you have even picked up your child! Would you like to send a quick message to the staff? also It’s all possible, quick and easy via My Ska.

We stimulate the development of children with accredited pre-school educational programs. Children who require a little extra support, and children who require a challenge. We work with, for example, Uk & Puk and Piramide.
Right to Pre-school Education
Sometimes a child can use some extra support in his/her development. In that case, he or she is given an ECE (VVE) indication via the child health clinic.
If your child has an ECE indication, he or she may attend the Pre-school for 16 hours per week. You will need to pay an income-dependent contribution for this.
Your child will participate in the same activities as other children, but the pedagogical workers will pay extra attention to your child’s development. For example, they might read a picture book to your child a few times, before they read it to the other children in the group circle. By doing so, your child will already be familiar with the words.
The employees also give advice for at home. And, in consultation with you, they will ensure a smooth transition to a primary school.
Combination with the childcare centre
Are you struggling to plan 16 hours of pre-school for your child because of work? We would like to discuss the possibilities with you. At a number of our locations, you can choose to combine Pre-school with a Childcare centre. You can register your child for at least one morning for pre-school and two or more parts of the day for a childcare centre. This way, your child will still have 16 hours of pre-school education.
