Quality
Ska Childcare stands for quality. It goes without saying that our services comply with the Childcare Act and the IKK Act. All our locations are listed in the National Register of Childcare (LRK). You will also find the registration number of each location on the relevant location page.
GGD inspection
The municipality is responsible for monitoring and enforcing the national quality requirements for childcare. Commissioned by the municipality, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) carries out inspections, assessing whether our childcare centres, Pre-schools and after-school care centres meet the set requirements.
General terms and conditions
Ska applies the general terms and conditions of our branch organisation (Brancheorganisatie Maatschappelijk Kinderopvang). In addition, we have our own additional conditions:
We are working with a vulnerable group. In order to guarantee the safety of children, we implement the four-eye principle as prescribed in the Childcare Act. The four-eye principle means that our childcare is organised in such a way that the professional or trainee care worker will only interact with the children while he/she can be seen or heard by another adult.
If only a few children are present at the Childcare centre or at the Pre-school – at the beginning or at the end of the day – we deploy only one pedagogical worker, but we ensure that there is always a second adult present, who can see or hear the children. A second adult will also be present on excursions, unless it concerns the transport of children between fixed locations.
By joining groups if required, we can also deploy a minimum of 2 pedagogical workers at a location, even on days when there are only a few children present.
VOG and registry of persons
All our employees are in possession of a VOG (Certificate of Good Behaviour) and are registered in the childcare persons registry. The safety of children is also guaranteed by our Protocol regarding the Suspicion of Child Abuse by an employee.
Well thought-out layout of the rooms
Our buildings are open and transparent. The kitchens and bathrooms for 0 to 4 year olds are accessible directly from the group rooms and from these rooms the pedagogical workers can keep a close eye on the children playing in the group rooms through the large windows or open doors. This applies to the childcare centres because the base groups work closely together in a unit, so that pedagogical workers and children can easily access the childcare centres together.
Babies have their own defined space where they can play and move safely, and from where they can watch the other children playing.
In almost all of our childcare centres, the bedrooms are adjacent to the group room. If this is not the case, baby monitors are used. Every 15 minutes, pedagogical workers will take a look at the sleeping children.
Details per location
In the pedagogical work plan of each location, we describe the specific details of the four-eyes policy.
Customer satisfaction
An important measuring point for our quality is parents’ satisfaction with the care. We examine this in various ways:
Customer feedback
We register the responses of our clients, both positive and critical. This enables us to stay informed about existing worries and respond quickly to our client’s needs.
Evaluation after 3 months of childcare and at the end of our time together
Three months after a child has started with us and when a child leaves childcare, we ask parents to fill in a questionnaire. We use the results to improve and tailor our services to your wishes.
Customer satisfaction survey
Every 3 years we conduct an extensive customer satisfaction survey among all our clients. The answers to the questions give us a good insight into the wishes and experiences of parents. This allows us, as an organisation, to make improvements as a whole as well as per location.
Complaints
A good complaints procedure is a valuable asset to the continuous improvement of the quality of our childcare. That is why we always take complaints seriously.
Share your feelings!
If, despite our efforts, you are dissatisfied with our service, please first discuss this with the person directly involved. If this does not solve anything, it is best to contact the next person in charge. Most complaints will be dealt with satisfactorily as soon as possible.
Complaints procedure
If direct contact does not lead to a solution, you can submit a complaint in writing. This can be done by e-mail to info@ska.nl, or by post:
