If you work, follow an education, or follow an integration course, you might be eligible for childcare allowance*. On the Belastingdienst website, you can check whether or not you are entitled to childcare allowance
*Is your child part of the play-and-learning group and are you not eligible for childcare allowance? In Amersfoort, Nijkerk and Leusden, you pay a contribution independent of income. We charge a low rate, thanks to a grant from the municipality. This grant applies to children from the age of 2.5 years.
Childcare allowance depends on your income
Childcare allowance is a maximum of 33,3% of the maximum hourly rate. Depending on your income, this percentage can increase up to 96%. For your second and next child, this number is between 67,6% and 96%. Our hourly rate is above the maximum decided by the government. You will not receive allowance above the maximum hourly rate. We take this into account in our calculation tool, so the result is really what you pay each month with us.
Collective income
Childcare allowance is calculated based on the size of your collective income (referred to by the Belastingsdienst as assessment income or the current year). Your collective income is the combined bruto yearly income of you and any partner, minus deductions like mortgage interest. On the site of the Belastingdienst is a helpful calculation tool to calculate your collective income.
Maximum hours per month
Eligibility for childcare allowance is linked to the amount of hours the least working partner works. With childcare at the daycare center, you are entitled to 140% of the hours worked. With out-of-school childcare, you are entitled to 70% of the hours worked. You can receive childcare allowance for a maximum of 230 hours per child per month on average.
